What GPA range is typical for admitted students at UC Berkeley?

Hey guys, I'm currently a junior and UC Berkeley is one of my dream schools. My GPA is hovering around a 4.1 (weighted) and I'm wondering if that's adequate? Could anyone share the average GPA of admitted students at UC Berkeley? Thanks a ton!

The University of California, Berkeley, is one of the most selective public universities in the United States. The average weighted GPA of admitted students is around 4.15-4.29, which is a very competitive GPA range.

However, don't let these numbers discourage you, as a 4.1 GPA is still quite solid. Besides, the UCs review applications holistically, meaning that they take into account much more than just your GPA. Your personal essays, extracurricular activities, honors or awards, family situations, and additional standardized test scores are all parts of your application that the UCs consider while making decisions.

Remember also that UC Berkeley, just like other UC campuses, has a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 for residents of California and 3.4 for out-of-state applicants.

Demonstrating commitment and excelling in challenging courses can also set you apart in the admission process. Taking rigorous courses, like AP or honors classes, helps to show that you're capable of college-level work, and it may somewhat set off a GPA that's less than ideal.

Anyway, keep working hard and best of luck!
