What's the average ACT score needed for admission into UNC?

Hey guys, I'm starting to gear up for the college application process, and I'm looking into UNC. What's the average ACT score for students accepted into UNC? I'm hoping to gauge whether my current score is in the right ballpark.

From the latest data, the middle 50% ACT score range for accepted students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC Chapel Hill) lies between 30 and 34. This means about 25% of admitted students scored below 30 and approximately 25% scored above a 34. Therefore, aiming for a score within this range would put you in a competitive position for admission.

However, aim for the higher end of that spectrum, if possible, to increase your chances, but remember that test scores aren't the only factor colleges like UNC Chapel Hill will consider during the admission process. They will also closely examine your GPA, class rank, extracurricular involvement, leadership roles, and essays, among other elements of your application.

UNC Chapel Hill is still test-optional for the time being, which means they don't require you to submit an ACT score (or any standardized test score) for the 2024-2025 application cycle. But if you think your ACT score can strengthen your application, feel free to send it in!

Best of luck with your college application journey!
