I'm getting super curious – can our counselors actually see what we've submitted on the Common App, or do they only get to see the parts where their input is required? How does it work?
Hello there! I'm a high school counselor, so I'm happy to take this question. No, counselors cannot see your Common App after you've submitted it. We only have access to the sections that require our input, such as the School Report, Counselor Recommendation, and any other documents we need to upload on your behalf. Additionally, before submission, you have to grant us permission to view the Common App via the Recommender system, but this is mainly for the purpose of filling out our sections. Once you submit your application to colleges, it becomes inaccessible to us. I hope this helps, and remember if you have any more questions don't hesitate to reach out to your counselors!
