University of Central Florida Admission GPA

UCF is my dream school, but I'm a bit concerned about my GPA. What is the required GPA for admission into UCF? Are there differences for specific majors or programs? Grateful for any guidance here!

When considering admissions into the University of Central Florida (UCF), it's important to note that the average GPA of admitted students tends to be around 4.18 on a weighted scale which considers honors, AP, and IB courses. However, this isn't a hard-and-fast rule, and the admissions committee will be evaluating your application holistically, taking into consideration your course rigor, extracurricular activities, leadership, and other factors, in addition to your GPA.

Regarding your question about specific majors or programs, UCF generally looks at the applicant's cumulative high school GPA during the application review. However, some competitive programs, such as the Burnett Medical Scholars Program, which is an accelerated 7-year BA/BS-MD program, do have stricter academic requirements.

So while GPA is a significant component of your application, remember to also concentrate on your involvement in extracurricular activities, essays, and other parts of your application. And of course, ensure your GPA is an accurate reflection of your academic capabilities and that it's in line with the competitive landscape of the program you're applying to at UCF.

One last thing - apply early! UCF operates on rolling admissions, so the earlier your application is completed, the earlier it will be processed. This could give you a significant advantage, as they may be more likely to admit students earlier in the cycle when there are more spots available.
