What are the largest public universities in the U.S.?

Hey guys, I'm trying to build my college list and I'm interested in really big schools where I'll be one of thousands of students. The atmosphere at big universities feels so vibrant and alive, you know? What are some of the largest public universities that I should consider? They don't necessarily have to be well-known, just big. Thanks in advance guys!

When it comes to large public universities in the United States, there are quite a few options. To help build your list, here are some with the largest undergraduate student body as of data from the National Center for Education Statistics:

1. The University of Central Florida (UCF) - Located in sunny Orlando, Florida, UCF boasts the largest undergraduate enrollment of any public university in the U.S., with over 59,000 students.

2. The Ohio State University (OSU) - Located in Columbus, Ohio, OSU has an undergraduate enrollment of over 51,000. It's also known for its enthusiastic school spirit, especially when it comes to football games.

3. Texas A&M University - This university, located in College Station, Texas, has an undergraduate population of approximately 61,000.

4. Arizona State University (ASU) - ASU has multiple campuses in Phoenix and Tempe, Arizona, and enrolled around 44,000 undergraduates.

5. The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) - Located in Austin, Texas, this university enrolls over 40,000 undergraduate students.

6. The University of Florida (UF) - In Gainesville, Florida, UF has an undergraduate enrollment of about 34,000 students.

Each of these public universities not only has a large student population but also offers a wide array of academic programs and extracurricular opportunities. Be sure to check out their individual campus cultures, location, cost, and available majors to find the best fit for you. Keep in mind that a larger school means more opportunities, yet it could also mean larger class sizes, especially for lower-level courses. Nonetheless, the energetic and bustling environments of these large public institutions seem to align well with your preferences. Good luck with your search!
