Any Good Quizzes for Deciding Which Military Branch to Join?

Hi gang, slightly odd request, but does anyone know of any good quizzes or resources to help figure out which military branch might be the best fit for me? I'm a junior and starting to seriously consider military service after high school, but I'm lost regarding where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a junior in high school, you're at the perfect stage to be considering the various paths available to you after graduation, including military service. You're right to try to gather as much information as possible to make an informed decision. While there's no universally accepted quiz for determining which military branch to join, you can start by understanding your personal goals, skills, and interests, and then aligning them with the unique qualities of each branch.

For example, are you interested in a technical job? The Navy or Air Force could be good options as they’ve traditionally focused more on technology and engineering. Do you feel drawn to ground combat, or perhaps you'd like to be in the branch with the highest number of enlisted personnel? The Army, being the largest branch, might make sense. If you're interested in serving both on land and sea, or if small, tight-knit communities appeal to you, the Marines could be a match. If you're interested in law enforcement or you'd like to serve but prefer a more domestic role, then the Coast Guard could be the fit for you.

It may also be a good idea to speak with professionals who have experience in different branches of the military. If your school has a JROTC program, you could reach out to the instructors there. Consider reaching out to local recruiting offices for each branch or talking to anyone in your community who has served. They can give you insights into the day-to-day experiences, culture, and opportunities within each branch.

Remember, while online quizzes and resources can be helpful in providing a cursory overview, they should only constitute one part of your research. Make sure to also do in-depth research on each branch and speak with real people who can provide first-hand experiences to best understand which one would be the right fit for you.
