Can I make edits to my Common App after I've already sent it off?

Hi all, I'm a bit stressed because I think I spotted a typo in my Common App after submitting it to my early decision school. Is there any way to correct this, or do I just have to hope they overlook it? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Hello! I completely understand how that might be worrying, but try not to stress too much. Once you've submitted your Common App to a college, you can't make any changes to that particular submission. However, admission officers know that students are human and small mistakes can happen. A single typo is unlikely to impact your admission decision. If you're feeling very anxious about it, you could reach out to the admissions office, explain your mistake, and provide the correct information. Do this only if the typo is significant, like in your name or contact information. For future submissions to other schools, make sure to review your application thoroughly to avoid similar issues—I always recommend that students have a trusted set of eyes (like a parent or counselor) look over the entire application to catch mistakes. And remember, one small typo won't overshadow your achievements and the hard work you've put into your application. Keep your chin up!
