Military Branches: Age restrictions?

Hey everybody, I just turned 17 and I'm seriously considering joining the military after I graduate. I can't find concise info online on age restrictions for different branches. Anyone here can help me out?

Sure, I can help with that. Since you're 17, in most cases, you will need parental consent to enlist in any branch of the military. The specific age requirements for each branch are as follows:

1. Army: The Army requires you to be at least 17 years old with parental consent or 18 without. The maximum age to enlist is 35.

2. Navy: The Navy also requires you to be at least 17 with parental consent or 18 without. They increase the maximum enlistment age to 41.

3. Air Force: For the Air Force, you must be at least 17 with parental consent or 18 without. The maximum age to enlist is 42 as well.

4. Marine Corps: The Marine Corps requires you to be at least 17 with parental consent or 18 without, and you can enlist until you're 28.

5. Coast Guard: The Coast Guard has the highest minimum age, at 17 with parental consent or 18 without, but they also have the highest maximum age at 41.

6. Space Force: The Space Force generally follows the same age requirements as the Air Force, since it is a branch of the Air Force.

These age ranges are the standard, but there can be waivers for specific situations or roles, especially those requiring more experience or education. Always check with a local recruiter for the most accurate information as rules can periodically change. Good luck with your future endeavors!
