Understanding Grades?

Trying to wrap my head around grades. If I get a 4/6 on an assignment, what grade does that equate to?

To convert a raw score to a percentage and then a letter grade, you first need to divide the earned points by the total points possible. So, if you score a 4 out of 6, you simply divide 4 by 6, which equals 0.6667. To convert this decimal into a percentage, multiply it by 100. This equates to 66.67%.

Different educational institutions have different grading scales, but commonly, a score of 66.67% would fall into the 'D' grade range. However, do keep in mind that some schools/courses may have a different rubric defining what numerical score equates to what letter grade. It's always a good practice to clarify with your teachers or refer to your course syllabus.
