Universities Recommendations in Erie, PA?

Hi everyone, I've been looking at attending universities in or around Erie, PA. Anyone got any insights on what are the best schools there? Don't really have a major decided yet, so any info is a big help!

In Erie, PA, you would certainly have a few options available to you. Here are three that you might consider exploring:

1. Mercyhurst University: A private institution known for its strong programs in Intelligence Studies, Hospitality Management, and Forensic Science. It offers over 50 undergraduate majors. The campus is quite close to downtown Erie, offering you access to the amenities of the city with the intimacy of a smaller campus.

2. Gannon University: Another renowned university in Erie. It offers a variety of majors, and it's particularly well-regarded in the areas of Health Sciences (nursing, occupational or physical therapy, physician assistant, etc.) thanks to its state-of-the-art facilities in the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences. Gannon draws students seeking a Catholic education in a vibrant downtown setting.

3. Penn State Behrend: While not directly in Erie, this Penn State branch campus is nearby and provides the resources and reputation of Penn State University with the feel of a smaller school. This can be a great option if you're not quite sure of your major yet, because it offers a wide range of programs in the Arts, Humanities, STEM, and Business fields.

As you're considering these options, think about what sort of college experience you're hoping for; each of these schools offers different opportunities in terms of campus culture, location, and academic specialties. If you're able to visit, campus tours can give you a real sense of what each school can offer and what life might be like as a student. Exploring the university websites can also give you a good sense of the available programs and resources.

Hope this helps! Keep in mind, the best school for you will depend on many individual factors beyond just the academic programs, so take the time to research a fit that is right for you.
