GPA Requirements for the University of North Texas?

I'm a bit stressed about my GPA as I plan to apply to the University of North Texas. Can someone tell me what their GPA requirements are? Is there a different requirement for in-state and out-of-state students?

The University of North Texas (UNT) does have GPA requirements for incoming first-year students. The university considers both your GPA and your class rank. Generally, for students who rank in the top 10% of their high school class, there are no minimum GPA requirements.

For students not in the top 10%, UNT does set minimum GPA requirements, which are paired with minimum SAT/ACT score requirements. For example, if you have a GPA of 2.7-2.99, you would need an SAT score of at least 1030 or an ACT score of at least 20 to gain admission.

Also, keep in mind that these are just the minimum requirements and having a higher GPA would improve your chances of acceptance.

As far as your question about whether there are different GPA requirements for in-state vs. out-of-state applicants, to my knowledge, UNT does not distinguish between in-state and out-of-state students in their admissions process in terms of GPAs. Everyone is evaluated using the same criteria. However, it's always a good idea to confirm this when you do your research or reach out to the admissions office directly. They're there to help and want you to succeed in the application process!
