PSAT scoring breakdown: What's each question worth?

Sooo, I've been thinking about the PSAT and how to best approach it. Does anyone know how much each question on the PSAT is worth? Is it the same for each section or different?

Hello there! Great question about the PSAT scoring system – it shows that you're taking a strategic approach to your test prep. Each question on the PSAT is worth one point, regardless of the section. This means that all questions are of equal value, whether they're from Math, Writing and Language, or the Reading section.

Your raw score for each section is simply the number of correct answers you have. That raw score is then converted to a scaled score using a process called 'equating,' which adjusts for slight differences in difficulty across different test versions. The scaled scores for each section range from 160 to 760, which are then added together to give you your total score out of 1520.

Remember, it's important not just to get questions right, but also to manage your time efficiently so that you can answer as many questions as possible. Best of luck in your prep, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions!
