What's the hardest military branch to get into?

Hey guys, I've heard that some branches of the military are really tough to get into - like they have super strict criteria. Anyone know which one's the hardest? Would it be better off aiming for an 'easier' branch or going all out for the tough ones?

In terms of difficulty to get into, the U.S. Coast Guard is usually considered the hardest military branch to qualify for. This is primarily due to its smaller size (it's the smallest of the military branches in the Department of Defense) and its specialized mission. The Coast Guard is highly selective and has fewer available slots, making it tougher to get into. Additionally, they have high academic and physical standards.

However, you shouldn't necessarily fall into the mindset of just trying to get into the 'easiest' military branch. It really depends on what you want to achieve in your military career. Each branch of the military has a specific focus and unique opportunities. For example, if you're interested in naval warfare or aviation, then the Navy might be the best fit.

Instead of focusing solely on the difficulty of getting in, consider which branch aligns best with your skills, interests, and long-term goals. If you're interested in a specific job or type of training, you should explore the branches that offer those opportunities. If your dream is to join the Coast Guard and you're prepared to meet their high standards, then it might be worth the additional effort to get in. If you have a different aim like ground combat or tactical operations, perhaps the Army or Marines would be a better fit.

Doing thorough research about what each branch offers and speaking with recruiters or those already serving can expose you to the realities of service in each branch, helping you make a more informed decision.
