FDU vs NJIT: Weighing my options

Hey fellow academics, I've got acceptance letters from both Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), and I'm having a tough time deciding between them. Can anyone who chose one over the other share some insight? What was the deciding factor for you, and are you happy with your choice?

Hello there! Congrats on both of your acceptances—FDU and NJIT are both great schools, though they cater to different strengths. The choice between the two could depend on various factors: your intended major, financial aid packages, and what kind of campus environment you thrive in.

If you're leaning towards engineering or technology-focused fields, NJIT has a reputable and robust program in these areas. For example, their engineering programs are highly ranked and respected in the industry.

On the other hand, if your interests lie in liberal arts, sciences, or business, FDU might be the better option. FDU has a strong emphasis on global education and offers a range of study abroad programs, which could provide you with some well-rounded experiences if you're interested in that.

The campus environments are also quite different. NJIT, being located in Newark, has more of an urban environment with easy access to New York City. FDU, on the other hand, offers more of a traditional campus setting with lush greens and architecturally distinct buildings.

Financial aid might also be a significant factor in your decision. Did one institution offer you a substantially better financial aid package than the other? This could certainly tip the scales.

Of course, these are very general observations, and your personal preferences will play a big role in your decision. If possible, it could be beneficial to visit both campuses (if you haven't already done so) to get a better sense of where you fit best.

Ultimately, the choice depends on what you value most in your college experience—program strength, financial feasibility, or campus environment. Both are solid institutions, and you'll likely find success whichever one you choose! Good luck with your decision.
