UNLV's Location? What's It Like There?

Hi everyone! I'm considering UNLV for my college education. I've done a ton of research on their academic programs, but one big question remains: what's the location like, and what does Las Vegas have to offer a college student?

The city offers a lot on the cultural front with different festivals, concerts, and art exhibits frequently taking place. The nightlife is pretty active with numerous restaurants, shows, and obviously casinos. However, remember that casinos are only accessible if you're 21 or older!

UNLV itself is relatively close to the Las Vegas Strip. This proximity to a major global tourist destination makes for a unique cultural blend that you won't find in many other places.

Outdoor activities are also pretty accessible. You're not too far from Red Rock Canyon if you enjoy hiking or rock climbing, and if you're willing to drive a bit, you can visit places like Lake Mead or even the Grand Canyon.

Something to bear in mind is the heat – Las Vegas is situated in the Mojave Desert, so it can get pretty hot, especially in the summer. This is something you might want to consider if you're sensitive to high temperatures. Nevertheless, don't forget there's a lot of air conditioning everywhere and some amazing pools to chill in!
