Hey people, I'm considering applying to Cal State Fullerton but I'm curious as to what the campus demographics look like? Anybody have insight on the diversity there?
Cal State Fullerton, like many California state universities, is known for its diverse student body. Around 50.2% of the undergraduate student body identifies as Hispanic or Latino and it's designated as a Hispanic-serving institution. Asian students make up around 21.8% and White students represent approximately 16.4% of the undergraduates. Finally, about 2.2% of the students identify as Black.
While these numbers provide decent insight, don't forget that diversity extends beyond race and ethnicity. You will also find diversity in terms of age, economic background, first-generation college students, and geographic locations.
Despite these statistics, it's crucial to visit the campus (virtually or in-person) and interact with current students or faculty, if possible, to truly understand the community atmosphere and ensure it's a good fit for you. Keep in mind that no amount of data can completely capture the individual stories and experiences of each student. Hopefully, this gives you a good starting point!
