How to convert 2.8 GPA to percentage?

Hey guys, I'm a little confused about my GPA and its conversion to percentage. I currently have a 2.8 GPA, but I'm not sure how that works out percentage wise. Is there like a reliable method or conversion table somewhere to help me figure this out?

Hello! GPA conversions are indeed quite confusing. Unfortunately, it's important to note that a direct universal conversion from GPA to percentage isn't quite possible because different institutions may utilize different scales.

However, one typical scale you might see considers a 4.0 GPA (the highest GPA, representing an A or A+ average) equivalent to 100%, and each 0.1 lower to be a percentage point lower. That is, a 3.9 might be equivalent to 99%, a 3.8 to 98%, and so on. In this case, your 2.8 GPA would map somewhere around an 80% average.

Nonetheless, please take into account that different high schools, colleges, and universities can have different conversion scales based on varying grading systems, so while this method provides a rough estimate, it's imperative to check with your specific school for the most accurate method.
