Hi all! I'm a firm believer that a diverse environment enriches education. With that being said, I'm looking at Cal State Fullerton as a prospective school. Can someone share insight into the student demographic breakdown there? Really appreciate any information on it!

Looking at the most recent data, Cal State Fullerton hosts a diverse student body across various dimensions such as ethnicity, gender, and socio-economic status.

According to the Cal State Fullerton Institutional Research and Analytical Studies Office, the undergraduate ethnicity breakdown was roughly as follows: 50.2% of students identified as Hispanic, 21.8% as Asian, 16.4% as White, 2.2% as African American, 0.1% as American Indian, and 3.6% as Two or More Races. Approximately 2.5% of students did not report their ethnicity or identified as international students.

In terms of gender, there was a higher proportion of women, with around 51% identifying as female and 49% as male.

In terms of socio-economic diversity, the school is also quite diverse, with many students being first-generation college students and a significant number receiving financial aid.

Part of what makes Cal State Fullerton a compelling option for many students is the rich diversity of its student population, which can lead to broad perspectives and varied experiences in the classroom and the community.

Please be aware that individual experiences may vary even with these statistics, so it is always valuable to personally engage with the community and visit firsthand if possible. This will give you the best gauge on whether the diversity of the environment aligns with your expectations.
