Having trouble choosing: SMU vs. TCU

Alright folks, I'm a little stuck here. I've been accepted into both Southern Methodist University (SMU) and Texas Christian University (TCU). If any alumni or current students of these universities could provide any insight into aspects like academic rigor, student bodies, internship opportunities, it'd be super helpful!

Congratulations on your acceptances! Both SMU and TCU are great schools, let's consider the factors you've asked about:

Academic Rigor: Generally speaking, both institutions offer a challenging curriculum that aims to enable students to excel in their chosen fields. SMU is known for its particularly strong business program, while TCU places a high emphasis on its communication and fine arts programs.

Student Body: SMU, situated in the upscale neighborhood of Dallas, is considered to have a fairly diverse student body. On the other hand, TCU, in Fort Worth, is often reputed to foster a tighter-knit community due to smaller size.

Internship Opportunities: Both Dallas and Fort Worth offer a wide range of internship opportunities. SMU enjoys a close relationship with numerous Fortune 500 companies headquarters located in Dallas, so there is a strong business and tech presence. TCU benefits from its location in a smaller but rapidly growing city, offering opportunities across several industries.

I would recommend you to dig deeper into the curriculum of your chosen major at each school and weigh which one aligns with your career and academic goals the best. Additionally, consider visiting the campuses if possible, as experiencing the vibe and culture of each can sometimes be the deciding factor. Good luck with your decision!
