Hey guys, I’m currently in my junior year looking into various colleges. I'm considering applying to Mississippi State University, but I'm a bit unclear on the GPA requirements. Does anyone have any information about this? Any help would be appreciated!
Mississippi State University has a few admission options, each with different GPA requirements.
For Freshman Academic or Regular admission, the minimum high school GPA requirement is 2.5 on the 4.0 scale. However, if you've completed the college preparatory curriculum and hold a GPA of 3.2 or higher, you could be eligible for the Academic Non-Ranked admission. For students whose high school doesn’t rank and whose GPA is below 3.2, the Combined Academic and Non-Academic admission has a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5.
Remember, this is just to give you an idea of the minimum requirements for admission. Competition can vary from year to year, so a higher GPA is always better. Plus, your GPA is just one part of your application; Mississippi State also considers standardized test scores, your high school course load, and possibly your letters of recommendation, personal essay, and extracurricular activities. Make sure to focus on as many parts of your application as you can to put your best foot forward.
