Michigan Wolverines! What's the typical GPA for UMich acceptance?

Hey, future wolverine here (I hope!). I'm currently in junior year and I've been doing well so far, but I'm a bit stressed about whether my GPA will cut it for the University of Michigan. Can anyone give me a general idea about the GPA of admitted students? Any input would be appreciated!

Absolutely, happy to help out with your question! The University of Michigan is one of the top public universities in the U.S., so understandably, it does have high academic expectations for its applicants. According to the University of Michigan’s official admissions statistics, their most recently admitted freshmen class had GPAs that were typically close to the top of the scale.

For a bit more precision, the middle 50% range of admitted students had GPAs between 3.8 to 4.0. This means that 25% of admitted students had a GPA below 3.8, and 25% had a GPA above 4.0. While these are the general GPA ranges, the University still assesses each applicant on a holistic basis, with also considering the rigor of your high school curriculum.

Given these ranges, it's best to aim for a GPA of 4.0 or higher to maximize your chances of being admitted. If you're below that number, don't lose heart — remember, many factors are evaluated in the admissions process.

Best of luck as you continue your junior year and start your college application process! Your Wolverines dream is within reach!
