Seattle University tuition for out-of-state students?

Hey y'all, I'm from California and I'm pretty interested in Seattle University. But I'm kinda worried about the costs. Does anyone know how much the tuition fee is for out-of-state students like me? Also, are there any scholarship opportunities I can look into?

Seattle University, like many other private universities, does not differentiate between in-state and out-of-state tuition. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the tuition is approximately $55,000, excluding room, board, and other miscellaneous fees, which can add an estimated $14,000 to $16,000 more to your overall costs.

Now, scholarships can indeed help offset these costs. Seattle University offers a wide range of scholarships based on merit and need. Merit-based scholarships are typically awarded automatically during the admissions process, with no separate application required. These rewards are based on factors like your academic achievements, leadership qualities, and extracurricular involvement.

The largest of these merit scholarships is the Sullivan Leadership Award, which covers four years of tuition, room, board, and books for nine incoming freshmen every year– it's extremely competitive but also incredibly rewarding.

For need-based assistance, you would need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to establish your eligibility. Seattle U also encourages students to look for external scholarship opportunities.

Registering with a scholarship search engine could be beneficial, but remember to be cautious of potential scholarship scams – never pay to apply for a scholarship, and remember that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Good luck!
