UMD - In-State Tuition?

Hello everyone, I'm considering UMD as one of my top options. I live in Maryland, so I'm curious about the in-state tuition benefits. Can anyone provide some insights on this? Is it significantly cheaper compared to out-of-state?

Indeed, the University of Maryland, College Park offers a significant tuition discount for Maryland residents. As a rule of thumb, in-state tuition is generally less expensive than out-of-state tuition across most public institutions, and UMD is no exception.

As of the 2024-2025 academic year, the estimated tuition and fees for in-state students at UMD are about $11,505, whereas for out-of-state students, that cost rises to about $40,306. So being a Maryland resident could save you a significant chunk of change, around $28,801 a year.

Always remember that these figures can change year to year. For the most accurate information, you should visit the UMD website or contact the financial aid office directly. Also, consider any financial aid, scholarships, or grants you may be eligible for, which could further decrease your cost of attendance.
