Easiest entry college at North Carolina State University (NC State)?

Currently, I'm setting my sights on NC State for my undergrad, quite anxious about the admissions though. Does anyone have first-hand knowledge about which college at NC State is the easiest to get admitted to? Thanks in advance!

While it's understandable you're anxious about the admissions process, "easiest to get into" may not be the best approach when selecting a college or major at NC State. Choosing a major you're not truly interested in just because it might be easier to get accepted can lead to dissatisfaction down the road. However, to address your question, it's a little complex due to several variables, including the number of applicants, the capacity of the program, and the specific cutoffs for GPA/test scores, which may change each year.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at NC State traditionally has a higher acceptance rate relative to competitive colleges like the College of Engineering or the College of Design. However, variation between different departments within each college can also exist.

Finally, consider that Transfers play a huge role in the NC State experience. Transferring between colleges within NC State after your freshman year is common and, in many cases, it's easier to transfer into more competitive programs once you show success at the college level. This could allow you to apply to a college that has a higher acceptance rate but then switch to the one you're truly passionate about.

Remember, your choice of major should align with your interests and career goals, not just the perceived ease of admission. I encourage you to explore the course catalogs and consider your future career goals to decide what you want to study. Then, based on your true interests, look at what will make your application stand out, like your GPA, your test scores (if submitting), your essay, your extracurricular activities, and your letters of recommendation.

Good luck with the application process!
