Which colleges in Michigan have less competitive admissions?

Hi everyone, I'm a rising junior from Michigan aiming to stay in-state for college. While UMich and MSU are on my list, I also want to consider other colleges that might be easier to get into. Could anyone recommend some Michigan colleges with less competitive admissions?

Absolutely, there are several institutions within Michigan that generally have less competitive admissions than University of Michigan and Michigan State University. Here are a few you could consider:

1. Wayne State University: Located in Detroit, this school offers a wide variety of majors, and has a focus on research and community engagement.

2. Grand Valley State University: Grand Valley has a wide range of undergraduate majors and places a strong emphasis on liberal education. Plus, it's in a nice location in Allendale, close to Grand Rapids and the Lake Michigan shoreline.

3. Eastern Michigan University: Located in Ypsilanti, it's especially known for its education, health and human services programs. It has many opportunities for hands-on learning and internships.

4. Western Michigan University: Located in Kalamazoo, this university offers a comprehensive selection of undergraduate majors. The school is especially known for its aviation and engineering programs.

5. Central Michigan University: Located in Mount Pleasant, it's known for its programs in education, business, and health professions.

6. Oakland University: Situated in the cities of Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills, Oakland is also a solid choice with a wide array of programs.

7. Ferris State University: Known for its career-oriented programs, Ferris State University is located in Big Rapids.

Keep in mind that easier admission doesn't mean these schools aren't high-quality; they each offer unique programs and opportunities that may even better fit your academic goals and personal interests. Make sure to visit the campus (if possible) or explore their websites to learn more about the programs that they offer. Good luck with your college search!
