What's a good ASVAB score for each military branch?

Hey folks, I've been doing some research about the different military branches and I stumbled upon something called the ASVAB score. Can anyone clarify what's considered a 'good' ASVAB score for each branch? Thanks in advance!

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a test that measures your ability in different areas and aims to predict how well you'd perform in different military occupational specialties. This test isn't just about passing or failing; higher scores can widen your available career options within each branch.

Here's the minimum required AFQT (Armed Forces Qualification Test) score for each branch. The AFQT score, derived from four sections of the ASVAB, determines if you're qualified to enlist:

- Air Force: 36, but typically, most jobs in this branch require higher scores.

- Army: 31.

- Coast Guard: 40.

- Marine Corps: 31.

- Navy: 35.

Remember, these are the minimum scores required to enlist. However, certain jobs might require higher scores in specific section areas of the ASVAB, or a higher overall ASVAB score. For instance, more technically oriented job roles, like a nuclear engineer in the Navy, may require an ASVAB score closer to the maximum possible score.

To give yourself the best chances, aim to exceed these minimum scores and perform as well as you possibly can. Doing well on the ASVAB not only ensures your ability to enlist but can open up a greater range of job opportunities within the military.
