Which is the easiest major in college to get admitted to?

I know that different majors have varying levels of competitive admissions, especially at large universities... So what would you guys say is generally the easiest major to get accepted into?

In choosing a major, it's important to prioritize your interests, skill set, and career aspirations rather than what's perceived to be the "easiest." Pursuing a major solely based on its perceived ease can affect your motivation and performance in college, as well as career outcomes post-graduation.

That being said, the selectivity of a major largely depends on the college or university you're applying to. In general, less popular or oversaturated majors may sometimes have less competitive admissions. Some universities might have less competitive admissions for majors in Humanities or Social Sciences simply due to the less demand compared to majors like Computer Science or Pre-Med tracks. However, this doesn't mean that these majors are 'easier' in terms of coursework or that they're less valuable - it just means they might have less competition for spots.

It's important to research the specific programs at each university you're interested in. Some universities might publish admission rates by major, or you might be able to find this information through their Office of Institutional Research or similar department. One thing to remember is "impacted majors," which at some schools (like certain UC or Cal State campuses) are so popular that they have higher admissions standards.

Also, keep in mind that some institutions admit students undeclared or into a general pool, not by major, and then you choose your major later. At these schools, your program of interest wouldn't affect your admissions odds.

Lastly, if you're passionate about a competitive major, don't let the odds discourage you. A strong application highlighting your genuine interest, pertinent skills, and relevant experiences can increase your chances of getting into the program you love. If your high school record doesn't reflect your potential, remember that colleges also value growth, so you can use your application to show how you've developed and improved over time. Remember, college offers opportunities for you to explore and discover your academic trajectory - so choose a path that truly interests and inspires you.
