Least Challenging Art Class to Take in General?

Not a great artist here, but I need to get through a creative arts credit for gen ed when I go to college. Any suggestions on what the easiest art class might be generally speaking? Is there one that's universally known for being more approachable?

Approachability certainly depends on personal strengths and interests. However, some students find that introductory-level classes in photography or art history tend to be more approachable for those who don't feel as comfortable in hands-on artistic creation.

Photography, especially if it's a digital course, often focuses more on understanding composition, light, and aesthetics rather than needing traditional drawing or painting skills. You'll learn techniques that can be applied instantly, and your work can often be transferred to other areas like social media or personal hobbies.

Art history, on the other hand, can be a great option if you're more comfortable with reading, writing, and analysis. Instead of creating art, you'll learn about different styles, periods, and artists, and explore how art reflects its cultural context. This can be a great way to understand the value and implications of art in society without needing to create it yourself.

However, remember that every college is different, and the difficulty of a course can vary based on the professor and the college's curriculum. It would be beneficial to also look into class reviews and ask fellow students who took these classes at your specific institution for their experiences and advice.
