Course Assistance for Evergreen Valley College

Man, I'm having a tough time deciding on courses to apply for at Evergreen Valley College. Can anyone share their experiences on which classes they found easier? I really just want to start things off right without overwhelming myself fresh out of high school.

It's absolutely understandable to feel a bit overwhelmed when choosing your first set of college classes, especially right out of high school. You definitely want to find a balance between academic rigor and personal sanity. One approach that I've seen work well for students is to take a mix of General Education (GE) classes and introductory courses in possible major fields of interest.

Evergreen Valley College offers many GE courses that students find manageable yet engaging. Course difficulty can vary depending upon a student's strengths, but generally speaking, introductory level courses in areas like Communications, Sociology, and Psychology tend to be quite accessible for freshmen.

Mixing in a class or two related to your potential major can help you get a feeling for what studying that field will be like. If you're interested in Sciences, for example, consider taking a foundational biology or chemistry class. If you're intrigued by the Humanities, maybe an early literature or history course could be up your alley.

Keep in mind that 'easier' doesn't always equate to 'better'. Sometimes a more challenging class can be a lot more rewarding in terms of what you learn and the skills you acquire. Also, remember that courses that align closely with your interests might feel less taxing, even if they're difficult, because you're passionate about the material.

It might be a great idea to meet with an academic advisor, if possible, since they can provide you with specific guidance based on your academic strengths, interests, and career goals.

Finally, remember that college is also about personal growth and exploration. So, while you want a balanced course load, don't shy away from classes that might challenge you in exciting, new ways. Good luck with your course selections!
