Hillsborough Community College - Easier Classes?

What's up folks! I'm thinking about joining Hillsborough Community College, and I'm trying to map out my class plan. Are there any classes you'd say are noticeably easier than others? Just looking to establish a solid foundation and avoid drowning in coursework right at the start.

Hi there! Outlining your class plan early on can be a smart move as it allows you to balance your course load effectively so you're not overly stressed in any one term. Remember that the level of difficulty in any course can be very individualized as it depends on your strengths and interests. If you find math challenging and English more comfortable, you may find a Composition class easier than a Statistics course. However, general education courses can be a good way to start, as they're often designed to cover broad subjects and aren't usually too specialized or intense. Plus, they can help fulfill various requirements. Furthermore, Introductory courses (like Introduction to Psychology, Sociology 101 etc.) can be more beginner-friendly.

However, course difficulty can lie not just in the content of the course, but also with the specific professor teaching it. Thus, it might be useful not only to investigate what courses are typically seen as 'easier' but also who typically teaches those courses and how students find their teaching style. Many students use websites such as RateMyProfessors to share experiences and give advice about specific professors and courses, which may be helpful.

Lastly, consider speaking to an academic advisor if possible. They can provide guidance on your initial course registration and help you balance your first semester course load. Also, check out the syllabus once it's available before class starts, it can give you a good idea what to expect from the class. All the best in college!
