Easy classes at Ithaca College?

Yo! I'm applying to Ithaca College and am a bit worried about course selection. What classes at Ithaca would you consider more manageable or easier? Really just trying to ensure I don't set myself up for failure in the first year. Thanks!

Hey! It's understandable that you'd want to ease into academics your first year at Ithaca. Remember, the definition of 'easy' can vary greatly depending on your strengths and interests. That said, a couple of courses that are often mentioned for their manageability include " CMST 11000: Public Communication". It's a nice class to start with as it provides an overview of media and society without being too intensive or technical.

"Music in Society" (MUNM 13000) is another course that students often find engaging but not too demanding. It introduces a wide variety of music from different periods and styles.

"Academic Writing" (WRTG 10600) is also a common first-year class where you get to practice your writing skills.

But remember, it's always good to balance your schedule with a mix of 'easier' and more challenging courses, also keeping in mind your major requirements and long-term academic goals. Regarding selecting courses, definitely utilize resources like professor reviews or peer advice once you are enrolled. While the course title might sound simple, the professor's teaching style could greatly influence how easy or hard the class is! Mixing it up can ensure you're challenging yourself while also not getting overwhelmed. Good luck with your application!
