Any Suggestions for Easy Chemistry Class in Community College?

I will be starting at a community college this fall and I need to take a chemistry course. I'm a bit nervous as it's not my strong suit. Any tips for an easy or entry-level Chem class?

It's great to hear that you're being proactive about your course selection process. Each community college will have different course offerings, so it would be difficult to recommend a specific "easy" chemistry class— the course difficulty can also greatly depend on the individual professor. However, there are typically some common introductory chemistry courses that you can consider.

One option might be Introductory Chemistry or Chemistry for Non-Majors, as these courses are specifically designed for students who do not intend to major in a science but need to fulfill a science requirement. These courses usually cover fundamental concepts at a pace that's manageable for students who don't have a strong science background.

Another option to consider is General Chemistry I. While this course is the standard choice for science majors, it often starts from the basics and builds up. If you invest the necessary time and effort to understand the concepts early on, it will set a strong foundation for the rest of the course.

As you're selecting a course, also pay attention to the lab component. Some courses might have a separate lab section which can add to the workload and complexity.

Remember, it's not necessarily all about finding the "easiest" course but rather one that suits your learning style and interests. Take advantage of resources like office hours, study groups, and tutoring centers if they're available. These can be incredibly helpful in making even a challenging course more manageable. Good luck with your studies!
