Perceived Simplest College Major

Hey all, trying to be realistic as I start thinking about college majors. Which ones are considered the 'easiest' to handle? I know 'easy' is subjective, but just looking for insights.

While it's important to remember that "easy" is very subjective and what may be easy for one person might be challenging for another, there are some majors that students often perceive as less demanding, primarily due to their less rigorous workload or less complex course material.

1. Communications: Communications is often seen as one of the simpler majors due to the blend of practical and theoretical learning. It's not necessarily that the material is easy, but rather that it may be more straightforward and less abstract than other areas of study.

2. Education: This major is often hands-on and focuses more on practical knowledge as well as the application of theories of learning and teaching, which could be considered simpler than theoretical knowledge-based majors.

3. Business: Depending on the specialty, some business majors may contain less rigorous coursework or have a more structured syllabus. However, it's important to note that this will vary widely depending on the university, and the specific focus within the business major—Finance, for instance, can be quite rigorous.

4. Criminal Justice: A Criminal Justice major typically involves the learning and understanding of laws and legal systems, which is less math and science-intensive, making it easier for some students.

5. Sociology: Sociology is often seen as simpler if you are more inclined towards understanding societal behaviors and interactions.

That being said, remember to choose a major not purely based on its perceived difficulty. Interest, potential career prospects, and how much you enjoy the subject should also be critical factors in your decision. Ultimately, most students find it easier to excel in subjects they are passionate about, regardless of how difficult the material might be.
