Veteran-friendly colleges with easier acceptance?

Hi, I'm a military veteran hoping to attend college and I'm wondering if there are any specific colleges that are known to be more understanding and accepting towards veterans? I've heard that some colleges are easier for vets to get into, but I'm not sure which ones these are.

There are quite a number of colleges and universities well-known for being highly accommodating to veterans, and while they might not necessarily have easier admissions, they often provide robust supports that can significantly enhance a veteran's college experience.

1. Arizona State University (ASU): ASU has a strong reputation for supporting veterans and active-duty military students. They offer a sizable military-affiliated community, academic excellence, and dedicated resources for military/veteran students.

2. University of South Florida (USF): USF is also known for its strong commitment to military and veteran students, and offers the Office of Veteran Success which provides numerous resources from financial assistance to academic support.

3. Syracuse University: Syracuse has a robust Office of Veteran and Military Affairs that caters to students with a military background, offering a myriad of resources, scholarships, and academic support.

4. Purdue University Global: This online branch of Purdue University is tailored to adults returning to school or changing careers, and they provide military-specific resources and advisors.

5. University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC): UMGC is another online education provider that's widely recognized for being military-friendly. They offer numerous resources and scholarships specifically for military-affiliated students.

In terms of easier acceptance, community colleges often have more open admission policies and offer many supports for veterans. That said, acceptance at any institution will depend on your academic history and aptitude, but your military background will certainly be seen as a valuable asset.

Remember, fitting in academically and culturally is just as important as gaining admission. So, not only look at acceptance rates but also explore how well these schools might suit your needs as a veteran. I'd encourage reaching out to these military and veteran student offices and they can help guide you further.
