Choosing a College Major - Psychology and Beyond

Lately, I've been drawn to psychology, but I'm not ready to fully commit yet. So what's some easier but still relevant college major closely associated with psychology?

If you're interested in psychology but perhaps not sure about full commitment, a college major closely related to it that you might consider is Sociology. It's often seen as a less rigorous major but still explores facets of human behavior and social interactions, much like psychology. It offers a broader perspective, focusing more on society as a whole rather than individual uniqueness.

Another major to consider is Cognitive Science. It's interdisciplinary, encompassing elements of psychology, philosophy, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, linguistics, and anthropology. It's a study of the mind and its processes, so there's a significant overlap with psychology.

Human Development, or Human Services, is another related field. These majors often incorporate elements of psychology, sociology, and social work. In programs like these, you learn how people grow and change over time, and how social institutions and programs can support that growth.

Lastly, consider Education. If you're interested in the applied side of psychology, especially child development or educational psychology, this could be a good fit.

Of course, each of these alternatives still requires an interest and enthusiasm for the subject matter. Remember to look carefully at the course structures and content details to determine which will be the ideal study area for you.
