Which are the easiest college majors generally considered?

Hi, high school junior here! Trying to figure out my future (no pressure, right?). I'd love to get perspectives on which majors are generally considered the 'easiest' in college. And by 'easiest', I mean less demanding in terms of workload or course difficulty. Any thoughts?

The 'easiest' major can vary greatly depending on one's interests and abilities, so you should take this into consideration while choosing a major. However, if you're looking at it in terms of potentially less demanding workload, studies show that some students often label the following majors as 'easier':

1. Education: This major often doesn't involve high amounts of reading or complex theoretical concepts that you see in majors like Philosophy or Law. However, remember student teaching can be time consuming.

2. Language/Linguistics (with a language you are already proficient in): If you are bilingual or already speak a foreign language fluently, majoring in such a language would likely require less workload since you're already familiar with it.

3. Communications: This major involves classes on topics that students find relatable such as media, public relations, and advertising. It might not contain as much pure memorization or complex problem solving as a major like Biology or Computer Science.

4. Social Sciences - particularly Sociology or Anthropology: These majors study societal and cultural topics that can be more concrete and easier to grasp than abstract theories in Economics or Political Science.

Still, it's crucial to note that these majors, like all others, can still be challenging and intensive, depending on the program at your college and your personal strengths and weaknesses. Taking courses you enjoy or feel you have a natural aptitude for can also make a major seem 'easier.' An 'easier' major is not necessarily better, as challenge and rigor can lead to learning and growth.

The most important thing is to choose a major that suits your interests and future career aspirations. A supposedly 'easy' major that doesn't interest you or align with your future goals could actually be harder for you to confront and might not benefit you in the long run. Remember, college is not only about earning a degree but also about gaining knowledge and skills that you can apply in your future career path.
