Essential Components of the Common App—What Am I Missing?

Hey guys, so I'm trying to get a head start on my Common App and I'm wondering if someone could break down the components for me? Like, besides the essay, what are all the parts I need to know about to make sure I have a complete application? I don’t want to mess this up.

Hey there! Kudos on being proactive about your Common App. Besides the essay, you'll need to fill out several sections, including the following:

-Personal Information (contact details, demographics, etc.)

-Family Information (details regarding your parents/guardians)

-Education (where you've studied, classes, and grades)

-Testing (your SAT/ACT scores)

-Activities (any extracurricular involvement)

-Writing (your main essay and any supplemental essays for specific colleges)

A good tip is to go through the Application Checklist provided on the Common App website to see if you've covered everything. And don't forget to take your time with the activities section, listing them in order of importance to you can highlight your commitment and achievements.

Have you started thinking about your recommenders yet? Remember, you'll need to invite them through the Common App platform, so that's something to get on as well. Keep track of each college's deadlines and requirements, as they can vary! Wishing you the best in the application process!
