Finding Easy Courses at Bellevue College

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well. I'm considering taking some classes at Bellevue College in the near future and I've been wondering, from your experience, which are some of the less demanding courses there? I'm looking to balance my difficult courses with some lighter ones. Suggestions?

Taking a balanced schedule is indeed a strategic approach to managing workload. While I don't advocate choosing classes purely on their perceived difficulty, it's understandable that you're looking for a manageable workload.

However, bear in mind that what is perceived as "easy" can greatly vary from student to student as it largely depends on individual interest, strengths, previous knowledge, and the professor teaching the course. What one student finds straightforward, another student might find challenging.

That said, some courses in the humanities and arts, such as Intro to Art (ART 100), Film As Literature (ENGL 204), and Intro to Sociology (SOC&101) tend to be interesting and not too demanding for many students. These classes often focus more on class engagement, discussion, and interpretation rather than rigid, fact-based testing, and this format can lighten the load for many students.

Also, Survey of Astronomy (ASTR&100) is often mentioned for its engaging content and approachable workload. You get to learn about the universe and the science is presented in a digestible way.

Communication courses, such as Introduction to Communication (CMST 210), also tend to be manageable for most students as they mostly require active participation and practical application of communication theories.

Always remember to consider your interest in the subject when choosing extracurriculars and it's recommended to look up professors and their course reviews on RateMyProfessors or a similar website before finalizing your schedule. It can provide some insight into the workload, teaching style, and grading policy of specific professors and classes.

Finally, meeting with an academic advisor can provide a personalized course recommendation that aligns not just with your skill set, but also with your educational goals. They might be able to provide more specific recommendations depending on the semester and the faculty.
