Easiest Classes at SF City College?

What's up guys? I'm soon to be joining San Francisco City College and I'm kind of nervous about maintaining my GPA while acclimating to the new environment. Would anyone suggest any easier classes I could take there?

Hey there! As a former community college student, I absolutely understand the concerns you're having. Remember that "ease" can depend a lot on your strengths and areas of interest. That being said, you could consider introductory courses or General Education (GE) classes that could help you transition into your college journey.

For a start, Introduction to Psychology or Sociology often offers a broad understanding of the respective subjects and isn't typically considered overly rigorous.

Art or Music Appreciation are typically GE courses that might also be easier, as they often involve learning and writing about different styles, time periods, and artists, rather than having to create your own art or music.

Courses that connect with your hobbies or interests can also feel easier, because studying isn't as much of a chore when you're passionate about a subject. So if you love history, an introductory history course could be perfect for you.

Finally, I usually suggest students steer clear of classes that are part of a sequence (like the first class in a science or math series) if they're looking for something lighter, as these classes often gear up in difficulty as they go along and they have the additional challenge of preparing you for the next class in the series.

Most importantly, ensure these "easier" classes can fit into your graduation requirements or transfer plan. Balancing the load with both introductory and major-specific courses can help you in maintaining your GPA while adjusting to your new surroundings! Good luck on your upcoming journey!
