Hey y'all, future Pirate here. I'm going to be attending ECU and I'm not super fond of science. Anyone at ECU or any other college have recommendations on which science class is typically considered the 'easiest'?
Hello future Pirate!
First off, kudos on taking the initiative to understand your course requirements better. That's a sign of a proactive student! Now, when it comes to picking "easy "science classes, the difficulty can be very subjective. It depends on your interests, your background in the subject, as well as the professor teaching the course. However, it can be helpful to consider introductory level classes in fields you find interesting.
At ECU, there are a number of science classes that students with non-science majors often find manageable and sometimes even interesting. "Intro to Environmental Science" is one such class that not only fulfills the science requirement but also provides practical knowledge about our environment. "General Biology" and "Physical Science" are other options often recommended for students looking for entry-level classes.
Furthermore, you might want to consider taking classes that have labs associated with them. While the lab component might add a bit of extra work, it can also support the material you’re learning in a more hands-on way and therefore make it easier.
Your academic advisor can be a great resource in determining a class that will meet the requirement while also catering to your strengths and interests. They can share what feedback they've heard from other students and provide insights into each course offering each semester.
Good luck in navigating your science requirement! Remember, sometimes the course we dread the most can end up being a hidden gem.
