Which military branch includes the Navy SEALs?

I've always admired the Navy SEALs and I'm interested in possibly following a similar path. But, I'm a bit confused, are they part of the Navy, or is it something separate? Can someone clarify for me? Thanks in advance.

The Navy SEALs are part of the United States Navy. "SEAL" is an acronym that stands for Sea, Air, and Land, indicating the multidimensional approach this group takes to special operations. As a division of the Navy, SEAL training and operations encompass sea, air, and land environments. Their missions are typically covert and involve a variety of tasks, including surveillance, combat, and rescue operations.

Just to give you an idea of the path to becoming a SEAL, it involves extremely rigorous physical and mental training. After basic naval training, prospective SEALs have to pass the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training, which is famous for its "Hell Week," a week of very intense physical and mental challenges. It's known for being one of the most difficult military training programs, so if you're considering this path, prepare for a very demanding journey. But, the reward is joining an elite group that carries out some of the most critical missions for the United States.
