Which is the easiest Teachers College to get into in Ontario?

So, I've decided that I want to become a teacher and I’m trying to plan my path and dream school. From your experiences or hearsay, which Teachers College in Ontario would you say is the easiest to get into?

Generally speaking, determining the 'easiest' teachers college to get into can be subject to many variables, including the competition of your application year, your specific interests in teaching, and the required admissions elements specific to each school.

However, universities like Lakehead University, Western University (with campuses in London and Windsor), and the University of Windsor have higher acceptance rates compared to other Teachers Colleges in Ontario. Particularly, Lakehead University at the Thunder Bay campus has a sizeable Faculty of Education, which can mean more spots for prospective students.

Keep in mind that each program has specific admission requirements such as prerequisite courses, letters of reference, and statements of experience or intent. So while these schools might have higher acceptance rates, their programs are still competitive.

Rather than focusing solely on admission rates, consider your professional goals and interests. Some programs may be more in line with your aspirations than others. For instance, if you're interested in Indigenous education or environmental outdoor education, Lakehead University would be an excellent choice as they offer specializations in those areas.

It's of utmost importance to not just aim for easiest but also to consider factors such as program offerings, co-op, and practicum opportunities, and the reputation of the institution in the education field. All these factors can influence your career prospects and satisfaction with your teacher preparation program.
