Mottos of Different Military Branches

Hi, I'm a high school junior and I've been doing some research into the different branches of the military. I'm really interested in understanding what each branch stands for - could anyone share the mottos for the different branches, or point me to a resource where I can find them? Thanks a bunch!

Absolutely, I can definitely help you understand what each branch stands for through their respective mottos. Here they are:

1. The Marine Corps: Their motto is "Semper Fidelis," which is often abbreviated as "Semper Fi." It translates from Latin as "Always Faithful."

2. The Army: The U.S. Army's motto is "This We'll Defend." It indicates the Army's constant readiness to defend and preserve the United States.

3. The Navy: "Non sibi sed patriae" is the U.S. Navy's motto, which means "Not for self but for country.”

4. The Air Force: Not traditionally having a single motto like the other branches, the U.S. Air Force has had many over the years like "Aim High ... Fly-Fight-Win" and "No One Comes Close." However, as of 2020, their motto is "Always There."

5. The Coast Guard: "Semper Paratus," which means "Always Ready,” reflects the Coast Guard's readiness to protect American coastlines and waterways.

6. The Space Force: Being the newest military branch, the U.S. Space Force's motto is “Semper Supra,” which translates as "Always Above.”

Each of these mottos uniquely represents the branch's mission and commitment. I hope this helps you in your research!
