What are some less competitive colleges in Los Angeles?

Hello, can anybody recommend colleges in LA that are slightly easier to get into? I want to continue living in LA, but my academic profile isn't very strong. Suggestions are welcome!

Absolutely, you'd still have some excellent options in Los Angeles even if your academic profile isn't super strong.

Cal State LA is perhaps one of the first that comes to mind. Part of the California State University system, it admits students with a wide range of academic profiles. They offer various majors ranging from business to natural sciences.

Another school to consider could be Loyola Marymount University. While it's seen as somewhat selective, they take a holistic approach to admissions, considering your interests and activities outside of academics, which could work to your benefit.

Los Angeles City College is another solid option if you're open to starting at a community college and subsequently transferring to a 4-year university. It's part of the California Community Colleges system and offers a broad range of programs.

Lastly, there's Mount Saint Mary's University, a private Catholic university known for its high acceptance rate and supportive learning environment. They're pretty strong in areas like nursing and business.

Remember, while it's crucial to consider admission requirements, you should also ensure that the college aligns well with your preferred area of study. Good luck!
