Looking for Insights on University of Dayton's Classes

Do any of you guys have experience with the University of Dayton? I'm starting there in the fall and was wondering what some of the 'easier' or more straightforward classes are. I'd appreciate any insight, especially if the classes could help with my interest in political science!

Firstly, congratulations on your admission to the University of Dayton! I think it's wise of you to strategize your class selections early on.

Starting with general education (GE) courses, 'Psychology 101' is often cited as a relatively straightforward introduction to a fascinating field, and it can support a political science major by giving you insight into human behavior and thinking. In terms of history, which is closely related to political science, 'HST 103: Introduction to Global Historical Studies' is generally seen as a manageable and interesting course. It could provide you with a broader understanding of political trends and events.

Now, turning to your primary interest area, within the Political Science department, 'POL 201 - The American Political System' and 'POL 214 - Introduction to International Relations' are two courses which past students have found informative and reasonable in terms of workload.

In addition to class selection, building relationships with your professors can make a huge difference in your academic experience. Going to office hours, participating in class discussions, and seeking help when needed can make even challenging classes more manageable.

It's also a good idea to check out resources like tutoring centers and the writing center from the get-go, even if you feel like you're managing well. These resources are there to help you succeed and can offer a lot of value in enhanced understanding and improved grades.

Keep in mind that what might seem 'easier' varies depending on individual interests and strengths. So, while it's good to take advice and insights from others, remember to take classes that genuinely interest you. This indeed is often the best way to ensure you stay engaged and perform well.

Wishing you the very best in your upcoming college journey!
