Easiest math classes at the University of Michigan?

Hey everyone, I'm kinda lost here. I will be attending U Michigan in the fall, and I have to take a math class, and I'm really not a math person. Does anyone know which math classes are the easiest to take? Some help would be much appreciated!

Hi there! While it's important to remember that ease can be subjective and depends greatly on your prior exposure to math, many students at the University of Michigan find certain math classes to be more manageable.

One popular course is Data, Functions, and Graphs. This class provides a less intensive option and covers fundamental concepts of algebra. This course mainly caters to students who do not intend to take calculus, so it might be a good fit if you're looking for something on the less demanding side.

Another choice could be Introduction to Statistics and Data Analysis. Even though it's a statistics course, it satisfies the Quantitative Reasoning requirement. Many students find practical application of statistics easier to understand than abstract mathematical concepts.

In any case, once you get to campus, it might be beneficial for you to chat with an academic advisor about your course options, particularly one knowledgeable about the math department who can provide insights about the professor's teaching style, the course curriculum, and class expectations. This way, you can ensure you're in a class that not only fulfills your requirement but also matches your learning style. Wishing you all the best!
