Easiest Professors at University of South Carolina?

Hey guys, l've been accepted to the University of South Carolina and I'm trying to build a schedule that won't totally overwhelm me in the first year. Who should I look out for if I'm looking for professors that aren't too harsh?

It's great that you're being mindful of your workload as you start your college career. However, I would like to advise that deciding which classes to take based solely on the perceived difficulty level of the professor might not provide you the best educational outcome. College is also about challenging oneself and learning from different perspectives. You may find that a professor who is known for being "difficult" might actually motivate you to learn more and inspire your passion for the subject.

That said, it's also logical to want to gauge what you might be stepping into and balance your schedule appropriately. A useful tool for this is the website Rate My Professors, where you can input the name of the school and the professor to see students' reviews. It provides insights about the professor's teaching style, grading, clarity, and more, as reviewed by actual students.

Also, the specific department at your school might have course evaluations available. These evaluations often break down the estimated workload, the clarity of the instructor, and other useful information. Remember to take these reviews with a grain of salt as they are subjective and based on individual experiences.

Cover your bases, talk with upperclassmen if possible, and communicate with your academic advisor. Most importantly, nobody knows your strengths, weaknesses, and limits better than you do. Ultimately, your own intuition and personal learning style will be the most helpful guides in making these decisions.
