Easiest psychology classes at University of Alabama?

Hi all, I'll be attending Alabama in the fall! I'm considering majoring in psychology, and I was wondering if anyone has any insight on the easiest psychology classes at the University of Alabama? I want to get a feel for the subject without diving in too deep just yet. It would be really helpful to get some advice from students who have taken psychology classes there. Thanks!

Of course! Getting a feel for your potential major is a great strategy. At the University of Alabama, Intro to Psychology is often considered a great starting point for students interested in psychology due to its broad overview of the field. Not only is it a requirement for the psychology major, but it's also a good way to test the waters to see if you are interested in the subject generally.

Now, "easy" is subjective and can be dependent upon factors like individual strengths, interests, and the particular instructor teaching the class. However, courses such as Abnormal Psychology and Psychological Tests & Measurements are often reported to be quite approachable, without being overly technical or demanding.

Keep in mind that you should also consider classes that you find interesting, not only those perceived to be easy. You can find a full list of Psychology courses offered here: https://catalog.ua.edu/undergraduate/arts-sciences/psychology/. It's often said that a class you're genuinely interested in feels easier because you're motivated to learn the material. Plus, if you do decide to major in psychology, having a broad understanding of the field beyond just the simplest subjects can be extremely beneficial.

Once you get to campus, don't forget to use resources such as office hours and study groups to make challenging classes more manageable. Good luck with your decision!
