Easier courses at Oxford University for application?

Hey all, I am an ambitious high school junior dreaming of studying abroad, specifically Oxford. I know how competitive it can be and am wondering which courses are relatively easier to get accepted into? As an international applicant, I want to enhance my chances as much as possible. Thanks for the advice!

It's essential to approach your university and course selection based on your interests and strengths rather than on perceived competitiveness. Oxford University is highly selective across all of its courses, and there isn’t a course that is necessarily "easier" to get into than others.

Each course and college within Oxford have different application ratios, with some courses being more competitive than others based on the number of applications received relative to the places available. For example, the courses like Economics & Management, PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics), Medicine, and Law often receive a high number of applications. However, relatively lesser-known courses like Classics or Archaeology & Anthropology might have fewer applicants.

Regardless, "easier" shouldn't be a consideration here as you must demonstrate a strong aptitude and genuine interest in the course you're applying to during the interviews and in your personal statement. Oxford's admission process also includes admissions tests for many courses which are designed to assess your abilities in the course you apply for.

Remember that you'll be committing a significant part of your life to studying this subject so it's important to choose something you're passionate about. If you haven't already, I highly recommend visiting Oxford’s official website where they have detailed admission statistics for each course. This will give you a clearer idea of the number of applications and places each course typically has.

Lastly, consider course content rather than just names, as different universities may offer different contents under the same course name.
