Which UC Schools Are Easiest to Get Into?

Hey all, I'm currently in my junior year and starting to look at potential colleges. University of California schools have really caught my attention but I know their prestige can make admissions fiercely competitive. So, which UC campuses, in your experience or based on what you've heard, might offer the easiest admissions? Any thoughts or advice would be super appreciated!

Hi there,

The 'easiest' UC schools to get into would largely depend on your personal strengths, intended major, and how well you align with their institutional values and mission. That being said, if we're looking strictly at acceptance rates and the more accepting campuses, UC Merced and UC Riverside generally tend to have higher acceptance rates compared to other UC campuses.

UC Merced is the newest UC campus and has the highest acceptance rate, which was at 88% for the Fall 2023 admissions cycle. Similarly, UC Riverside, while more established, also tends to be more accepting with an acceptance rate of 70% for Fall 2023.

However, it's still crucial to ensure that the school is a good fit for your academic and personal ambitions. A higher acceptance rate doesn't necessarily make a certain campus better or worse for you as an individual. Research each UC campus thoroughly, consider factors beyond acceptance rates such as programs, faculty, research opportunities, campus environment, and location.

Remember, while acceptance rates can provide a broad picture, they don't determine your individual chance of acceptance. Good luck as you navigate this process!
